OMNI Information Technology - Jr. Business Systems Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) DevOps supports the application portfolio across the organization and manages critical projects, hardware and software applications by eliciting, translating, and documenting business and process requirements for departmental projects.
Consults with a broad constituency to develop creative solutions using development lifecycles, effective project management and analysis skills in order to support business strategies.
Develops, supports, and maintains GIS and Operations technology to achieve optimal functionality, usability and integration to meet or exceed company goals.
The Jr. BSA DevOps demonstrates and adheres to the company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect, and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX's continued success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the management of the application environment across the organization, with an emphasis on the GIS application environment and Operations technology development
- Design and develop GIS solutions to meet company goals and industry best practices
- Design and apply geospatial analysis techniques to data sets
- Serve as a technical expert regarding the details of the GIS application portfolio and Operations technology stack; liaison to business units
- Integrate and work efficiently within technical team and process team
- Collaborate in the design, development and maintenance of application and integration architecture that supports the application portfolio
- Contribute to the end-to-end design and architecture of new projects, including all application, data, and infrastructure components;
ensure vendor product architecture aligns with internal architecture
- Support the testing of software enhancements and changes; ensure effective use by internal and external customers
- Work collaboratively across all lines of business and departments with a positive attitude focused on delivering value from the applications and resources
- Continuously analyze and monitor utilization of applications for current and future needs; provide insight about future planning and resources to extract value from the application portfolio
- Translate business needs into product backlogs, user stories, and business requirements to optimize business value of applications and processes
- Support the consistent implementation of business systems activities and processes supporting business applications, including Maintenance of Business and Process Improvement Team guidelines
- Focus on continuous process improvement towards departmental policies, procedures, and best practices

- Maintain knowledge about current and emerging technologies that may benefit the company

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Systems, or equivalent technical expertise
- 1-3 years' experience in related capacity
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS platform
- Proactively adapt to challenges that arise; provide thought leadership, drive successful outcomes, utilize complex problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with project management skills; prioritize concurrent assignments
- Self-starter, multi-task to deliver deadlines and meet business goals
- Superior interpersonal and customer services skills to meet and / or exceed customer expectations
- Experience with JavaScript, Python, and Arcade
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, ETL and integration tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and / or Oil and Gas industries
- Compose complex SQL statements and procedures
- Experience utilizing Esri ArcGIS platform in Azure
