Lake Washington SD is seeking qualified Elementary Education Teacher candidates for Facilitator / Teacher positions within the Elementary Highly Capable Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

Position Summary :
The primary role of a Highly Capable Program Facilitator-Teacher is to provide support for students in grades K-5 who have been identified for the Highly Capable Program as determined by multiple cognitive and academic measures.
The Highly Capable Facilitator-Teacher provides small group, pull-out service enrichment in mathematics and / or reading to identified students.
Program services for students will be at their home schools. The Highly Capable Facilitator-Teacher may provide general education teacher support with core language arts and math instruction.
The Highly Capable Facilitator-Teacher K-5 offers professional support through the monitoring of student data, classroom visits and reflective conversation, professional development workshops, in and across schools in relation to Highly Capable learners who are beyond standard in core academics.
Please view attachment for position details. Desirable Criteria : Desirable criteria for selection of Highly Capable Facilitator-Teacher will include the following : (although these are not required, these criteria are desired of applicants / candidates)
- Has taught for a minimum of five (5) years
- Holds a WA State teaching certificate with an endorsement in Elementary Education.
- Experience or knowledge of the needs of highly capable students and parents is highly desired
- Master's Degree
- National Boards
- Experience teaching adults
- Demonstrates the following : outstanding classroom teaching ability ability to problem solve and create plans to address needs of teachers ability to plan for and design curriculum support and differentiation strategies for general classroom teachers to easily support highly capable learners talent in written and oral communication strong listening skills ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other professional staff members ability to confront effectively ability to function with humor and flexibility positive outlook strong work ethic leadership skills in team, building, district, or other professional capacity
- Must have a valid Washington State driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
