PositionSummary :
- Enables patientsto secure access to care at PIH Health facilities by performing alltasks related to registration and preregistration of outpatient andinpatient accounts.
- Calculates and securespatient liability including copayments coinsurance and deductiblesin an efficient accurate and hospitable manner to ensure that thepatient physician and hospitals needs are met.
Requirements :
- One years experience in a highvolumehealthcare facility or medical office setting with strong computerand customer service experience required.
- Highschool graduate required or equivalent evidence of continuingeducation preferred.
- Medical terminologystrongly preferred.
- Insurance and billingexperience strongly required.
- Drivers License : ability to travel to offsite locations (Outpatient only)
- Bilingual Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin)preferred
NecessarySkills :
- Must haveexcellent written and verbal communication skills to communicateeffectively with staff patients guarantors insurance companies andphysicians.
- Demonstrated diligence; GoodEnglish speaking spelling reading and Mathematical skillsrequired.
- Demonstrate ability to learn quicklyand follow directions as outlined in policies or given bySupervisor.
- Strong Computer skills andKnowledge in Word Excel and ability to maneuver through multiplescreens in a timely manner.
- 1 year of medicaloffice / hospital / medical billing work experiencepreferred.
- Medical terminology knowledgestrongly preferred.
- Insurance knowledgerequired.
- Ability to multitask in a fast andhighpressured environment
- Stringent adherenceto all HIPAA laws
- Strong typing skillsfortyfive and up wpm are required.
- Stronganalytical skills problem solving. The ability to act and decideaccordingly.
- Excellent Customer service andphone skills with a background in the medical industry
- Ability to travel to offsite locations (Outpatientonly)
