About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Pediatrics Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Night Shifts, 3 days per week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience License : Current RN License from the State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications : Current Basic Life Support;
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association Must-Have : Experience in Pediatric Patient Care Job Description : Provide nursing care in a hospital environment to patients with various health issues, ranging from simple to complex.
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments;
note any changes in physician orders.- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients and intervene when necessary.
- Administer prescribed medication and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.- Deliver competent patient care and communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding the care plan.
- Inform patients and their families about hospital procedures.- Make appropriate referrals concerning patient care needs.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and maintain a collaborative work environment.- Perform additional duties as assigned.- Experience in CV step down is requested.
- Capable of floating to all acute care units, including Pediatric Medical Unit, Pediatric Surgical Unit, Pediatric Medical Specialty, and occasionally Pediatric Hem / Onc Unit.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Some computer skills are necessary.*Required Education : An Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. A Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing is preferred.*
