Job Summary :
Van Chevrolet / Cadillac / Subaru, a leading dealership in the Kansas City area, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payables Specialist to join our Accounting and Finance team.
As a Payables Specialist , you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing all payables and maintaining vendor relationships.
This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry, with a competitive compensation package and room for growth within the company.
We are not looking for a "job hopper". We have extraordinary low turnover in our organization. Our accounting department is seeking a Payables Specialist due to a retirement.
Compensation & Benefits :
This is a full-time, hourly position with a compensation of $17 per hour, paid weekly. In addition, employees will have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) options, and paid time off.

Responsibilities :
- Process and post all accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, responding to inquiries and resolving any payment issues.
- Assist in month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts payable to the general ledger.
- Maintain accurate records and files related to vendor contracts, invoices, and payments.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures related to purchasing and vendor management.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy in the payables process.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dealership Controller.
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
- Previous experience in the auto industry is NOT necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
