- Duties include reviewing, preparing, managing, analyzing and presenting various financial documents and accounts; monitoring various bank accounts and resolving issues;
- reconciling various general ledger accounts; preparing audit work papers and adjustments for the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report;
initiating or approving wire transfers; preparing or approving journal entries; and researching and answering questions from external auditors and departments.
- Duties also include financial oversight for the accounting and reporting of Enterprise, Capital Improvement, and Debt Service Funds;
- setting up, tracking, and reviewing construction project accounts for accuracy and compliance; monitoring the accounting and reconciliation of construction projects and the project ledger;
providing assistance and training to departments on accounting related topics and financial systems; and developing testing programs for new software installations and upgrades in assigned area of responsibility.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, accounting or finance and two years of related experience. Must have thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ability to interpret technical accounting pronouncements.
