The Role : Perioperative RN

Provides direct patient care to intraoperative patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Position Highlights :

This position is M-F with no call, weekends, or holidays. However, there is an expectation of cross-campus training to be able to float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed.

MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team Operating Room team at the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville.

The Work :

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual / psychosocial support needs.
• Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

You Have :

• Have a valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion
• At least 2 years of RN Med / Surg experience or previous OR experience, strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, problem-solve, and utilize critical thinking skills
• Be dedicated to ongoing learning and professional development
• Have exceptional customer service and communication skills
