Summary :
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform variousservices and related activities in support of patient careincluding accurate data entry for patient registration andinsurance verification.
The Certified Medical Assistantdemonstrates the ability to use good judgment and communicateseffectively with all patients;
families; licensed personnel;insurance companies and third-party payers. Demonstrates aprofessional and caring manner.
Responsibilities :
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUSCompetencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader ofLeaders.
- Assisting the physicians, nursepractitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medicalcare.
- Accurate Data Entry of charges on patientaccounts, registering patients, and updating patientaccounts.
- Insurance Verification and recording ofStatistics.
- Assist with scheduling patientappointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed ofchanges, and informing patients of their benefits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or EquivalentPreferred.
- 1 year of medical officeexperience preferred.
- Certified MedicalAssistant (CMA) certification in the state of employment isrequired.
- BLS from the American HeartAssociation (AHA) is required.
