The Hired Guns are seeking a Business Analyst who’s equal parts data analyst and project manager to jump into a contract-to-perm opportunity for a professional sports organization.

If you’re an elite expert in the field of data warehousing and migration, get ready to be called up to the big leagues.

Nitty Gritty

This major sports governing body is migrating its archive of user stats to a new enterprise database, and they need an expert business analyst to safely oversee the process.

Though you’re not writing the data migration plan itself, which is already underway, you will be responsible for redistribution in its new Redshift configuration.

The day-to-day will be to allocate everything seamlessly in the new framework.

Expect to use OpenScript and take full control of this project as it increases performance from its new home in this consumer-facing site.

Data-driven attribution and analysis will pin all these numbers to their new schema.

Inside-out knowledge of this sport isn’t essential, provided you’re willing to learn the general rules and stats, but you’ll have a lot more fun if you do love the game.

Ecommerce or media experience are equally valid origins, but the real essence is warehousing data of an expansive and complex nature.

Needless to say, you’re an SQL demigod. In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services is good, with a particular focus on Redshift.

Informatica isn’t quite as desirable, but still very much welcome. As an analyst you use Esper with the dexterity of one of its original programmers, and on the managerial side, your ScrumMaster® certification came with a blue ribbon on it.

Your biography as a biz analyst unites everything business intelligence, with big muscles in Tableau, Power BI, Micro Strategy, and more.

You’ve got program management with at least a couple of employers on your resume, and an analytics rap sheet for days. If a database can do it, you know how to make it run smoothly, including tracking relational database concepts, data modeling, data integration, ETL, and once again, data warehousing and migration.

This isn’t a junior position. You may know data science, but unless you have experience with data migration and warehousing, you’re not the right person for this role at this time.
