Enterprise Cloud Platforms Team :

The Enterprise Cloud Platforms team in the CTI organization offers Private and Public Cloud platforms for Bank of America’s developers to drive faster time-to-market, innovation with private and public cloud capabilities, and reduce complexity with built-in integrations.

We believe in high quality engineering culture to engineer our platforms with customer and platform mindset, design for large enterprise scale and resilience, and accelerate market innovation into the technical platforms we deliver.

As part of this team, you will have a large impact on the evolution of next generation Cloud services for Bank of America and explore an extensive list of new technologies that will drive innovation across our company.

This role is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the role include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.

This role codes solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application / system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces.

This role will participate in daily team collaborations and work closely with GBS and US stakeholders, drive projects independently and will also facilitate business decisions by highlighting opportunities and identifying cause and effect relationships.

Position Summary :

  • Provide thought leadership related to Service Mesh, microservices and related technologies.
  • Design integration with existing bank systems and processes in Java and Spring Boot to provide a friction free user experience and drive user adoption.
  • Collaborate with Global Information Security, risk, and compliance partners to identify, document and remediate issues and propose changes to bank policy.
  • Collaborate with operations, and development teams to improve stability and provide a predictable upgrade cadence with zero downtime.
  • Identify, document, and socialize best practices & patterns related to service mesh.
  • Partner with external vendors to address compliance gaps and meet future bank needs.
  • Contribute to story refinement / defining requirements.
  • Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story / requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
  • Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues / errors, and triage the underlying cause.
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
  • Articulate complex technical requirements in a lucid manner relevant to business use cases.
  • Perform research and gather relevant information to define stakeholders’ business problem(s).
  • Adopt a pragmatic approach and think smart to identify relevant techniques and workarounds for business challenges.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and across borders to effectively execute the goals.
  • Partner with technical teams to implement developed solutions / applications in production environment.

This role is familiar with development and testing practices in the industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement / story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements
  • Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities
  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story / requirement through the delivery lifecycle
  • Contributes to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues / errors, and triage the underlying cause
  • Performs spike / proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

Required Skills :

  • Experience in building large scale distributed enterprise platforms with focus on performance, scale, security, and reliability.
  • Hands-on development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot and REST.
  • Experience with Agile development practices, test-driven development and CI / CD tool chains.
  • Experience in containers and Kubernetes-based container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience in cloud-native network, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proven track record of developing scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code concepts, terraform and ansible.
  • Experience in PaaS logging, monitoring, and observability tools such as fluentD, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.
  • Experience with on-premises based Private Cloud and Public Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience in working in and leading Agile scrum teams.
  • Track record of successful operation in a fast-paced environment with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff and provide mentorship to developers and infrastructure engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.

Desired skills :

  • Experience in a compliance heavy industry like financial services or defense.
  • Experience with Hashicorp products (Consul, Vault, Terraform, Packer)
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Experience in managed Kubernetes services such as AKS, EKS, or GKE.
  • Good Inter-personal skills and Communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change in project scope.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team with direct responsibilities.
