Insurance Defense Attorney - insurance defense

Busy, highly successful, and well-established civil litigation and insurance defense law firm based in Long Beach since 1979 with 40+ attorneys, and offices in Northern California, is seeking attorneys to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for lawyers seeking an active trial practice to learn litigation skills from highly respected, experienced trial lawyers in high-stakes litigation in a collegial, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, opinions, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents;
• Advocates for clients in court, in administrative hearings, and in other legal proceedings;
• Advise clients on a variety of legal matters;
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other professionals in various venues;
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients;
• Prepare pre-trial briefs, jury instructions, and other trial court documents;
• Prepare and argue appeals;
• Identify areas of risk and develop strategies for mitigating losses;
• Negotiate successful resolutions to disputes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to a state bar
• 3 - 7+ years of insurance defense experience
