Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Data Warehouse Design and Development :
- Design and architect data warehouse solutions that meet business requirements and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop data models, schemas, and dimensional designs to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Implementing best practices for data model development and implementation between data warehouse and BI tools such as Tableau.
- Design and / or review data models implemented using Tableau Data Management / Data Prep.
ETL Process Development :
- Design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from source systems, transform it according to business rules, and load it into the data warehouse.
- Optimize ETL processes for efficiency, reliability, and data quality.
MDM and Data Governance :
- Develop and implement data management strategies.
- Develop MDM solutions for core business data entities to ensure consistent quality data.
- Design and implement systems and processes for master data solutions.
- Develop business taxonomy and hierarchy management.
Data Integration and Management :
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, into the data warehouse.
- Define data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
Performance Optimization :
- Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and data partitioning.
- Implement best practices for data compression, storage optimization, and data archiving.
Data Security and Compliance :
- Implement security controls and access policies to protect sensitive data stored in the data warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.
Documentation and Training :
- Document data warehouse architecture, data flows, and technical specifications.
- Provide training and support to data analysts, developers, and business users on data warehouse tools and technologies.
Required Skills, Education and Certifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Architect or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in data warehouse design and development.
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER / Studio, or PowerDesigner.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills, Education and Certifications :
- Experience modeling for BI tools such as MS PowerBI or Tableau.
- MS in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with the data science product development cycle including operationalizing into a production environment.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to travel approximately up to 10% of the time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15-20 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged period of time throughout the work day
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as personal computer, laptop, telephone, photocopy machine, etc.
