Dietz Property Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grounds Keeper to join the team for one of our premier apartment portfolios in the Royal Oak and Plymouth / Canton, MI areas.

OVERVIEW :

As a Grounds / Housekeeper for DPG, your responsibility is to maintain the grounds and community cleanliness for residents.

The Grounds / Housekeeper keeps grounds, landscaping, patios / decks and building common areas / amenities maintained in a safe and appealing manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following :

• Mow, weed, whip, and edge lawns weekly, if applicable. Clear all walks, patios, porches and drives of any lawn clippings, mulch, dirt, etc.
• Maintain all lawn and bed areas of the property including panting, weeding, watering, mulch, grass seed, tree trimming and shrub pruning
• Clear snow, ice and apply salt to the designated areas of the property as directed
• Monitor grounds and pick up any debris found to ensure that the property curb appeal is maintained as directed
• Maintain all playground and recreational equipment to ensure that it complies with all safety standards
• Dusting, vacuuming, mopping of apartment units and building common areas
• Cleaning and sanitizing of bathrooms and kitchens
• Communicate any inventory needs to ensure that there are adequate supplies to perform grounds / housekeeping tasks
• Be aware of the annual operating budget and the year-to-date status of accounts that pertain to housekeeping
• Provide quality, professional service to the residents
• Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS : The successful candidate for this position will have at minimum, the following skills, experience, and characteristics :

• Communication skills to work effectively with other team members and provide exceptional service to residents
• Ability to contribute to landscaping design ideas, assess ground / landscaping needs, be self-motivated, and possess problem solving abilities

REQUIREMENTS :

• A commitment to the Company's Core Values
• General knowledge relative to cleaning chemicals, and cleaning equipment operation
• Basic knowledge of pools, sprinkler systems, lawn care equipment etc.
• Small engine knowledge
• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions and be self-motivated
• Valid driver's license

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear
• The employee must frequently lift and / or move items over 20 pounds
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day indoors and outdoors
• This position also requires the ability to operate lawn care equipment, snow-blower, plow, salt, spreader, chipper, edger, shrub trimmer, weed whip, leaf blower, tractor, sprayers, fertilizer spreader, misc. hand tools, etc.
• Frequent travel by car or golf cart on from building to building

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time Grounds / Housekeeper position for which the hours are Wednesday - Sunday with Monday & Tuesday off.
