The School offers courses at both University Park and World Campus. The School offers courses related to the following programs :
Courses within the program, particularly the cornerstone engineering design course, assist students in learning design processes, methods, and decision-making tools while engaged in team-based design projects.
Effective use of communication skills and computer-aided analysis tools are an integral part of the cornerstone engineering design course.
Courses are taught in support of the or the and assist students in obtaining skills attributed to entrepreneurial behavior and innovative thinking.
Courses in this program provide students with the understanding of individual, team, and organizational leadership; business acumen, global competencies, and multicultural awareness;
and innovation and management.
Courses aim to provide new cross-disciplinary perspectives and tools required to solve complex multidisciplinary problems and address societal changes in science and technology policy, legal and regulatory policy, complex systems design, and anticipating technology trends.
This online program provides a deep understanding of advanced engineering and high-level leadership principles.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate is expected to teach up to five courses per year. While most of the teaching is likely to be of EDSGN Cornerstone Engineering Design (required for most first-year engineering students), the opportunity may exist to utilize the successful candidate’s expertise in other design courses or programs of study within the school.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, undergraduate teaching, curricular development, curricular assessment, and committee assignments.
Professional development is also an expected component of this role.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor include a master’s degree or a Ph.
D. in an engineering-related field by the start of the appointment and complementary teaching, industry, or other experience.
The title of Professor of Practice should be reserved for persons who have accumulated a decade or more of high level and leadership experience in the private or public sectors outside the academy.
Candidates will be considered for an academic rank commensurate with their education and experience in accordance with .
Evidence of excellent teaching potential and enthusiasm for interacting with students is required. Applied experience and evidence of the ability to function in a multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary team environment is a plus.
This position requires excellent writing and oral communication skills.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
This is a - week term appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal. The initial appointment rank will be determined by the candidate’s qualifications.
The anticipated start date is August 1, 4.
