Position Summary :
This Human Resource Professional II position works in the District Six office located in Garden City, KS. This position serves as the Human Resource Administrator for District Six and is responsible for providing technical expertise in multiple human resource areas including but not limited to Employment, Benefits, Employee Relations, Recruitment, and Classification.
The Human Resource Professional II reports directly to the District HRP Manager and guides the area offices on procedural and policy information.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :
Analyzes a variety of human resource management issues to make recommendations for strategies and practices to support an effective employee relations program.
This position also advises district staff, employees, and applicants regarding statutes, regulations, policies, procedures, discipline, and processes related to pay, employee relations, benefits, equal employment opportunity, and worker’s compensation return to duty determinations.
- Provides direct supervision for a Human Resource Professional I and an Administrative Specialist. This includes providing guidance, counseling, training opportunities, and performance reviews.
- Oversees the preparations and processing of personnel transactions and confidential employee personnel and medical files for employee relations, recruitment, and hiring, compensations, and transactions to include correct pay and authorization for overtime / emergency time, classifications, staff development, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) / Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act, and components of the human resource program.
- Manages and coordinates the district recruitment activities, makes recommendations and strategies for recruitment sources, and assists the recruitment team in promoting employment to prospective applicants through career fairs.
- Assists the district in reviewing position descriptions and requests for allocation or reallocation of positions assigned to the district.
- Coordinates and presents Final Boarding training, presents one-on-one or small group training on human resource related functions, and analyzes training goals and works with ODU to develop a training calendar.

Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Two years of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing, or administering personnel or human resource functions.
- Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Transcripts are required for education to be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License at time of appointment.
