About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $478 To $531 Job Title : Speech and Language Pathologist Job Specialty : Staff Augmentation Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : Flexible within working hours / days - 16 hours per week, no weekends or holidays Experience : Minimum of insert years years required License : Insert required licenses Certifications : Insert required certifications Must-Have : Experience with speech and language assessments, therapeutic program development, and interdisciplinary teamwork Job Description : Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individuals' receptive / expressive speech and language skills, swallowing skills, and social / pragmatic skills.
- Develop, modify, and implement individual and group therapy / treatment programs to enhance communication and address swallowing deficiencies.
- Recommend changes in the texture of foods and consistency of liquids, participate in barium swallowing studies, and confer with medical staff regarding medications to improve swallowing.
- Design and deliver speech, language, and dysphagia management services for individuals and / or groups.- Conduct hearing screenings and training for the use of hearing aids.
- Provide training in beginning reading, word recognition, survival signs, articulation, social communication skills, sign language, and use of augmentative communication devices.
- Design and deliver in-service training to staff on speech-language techniques and protocols.- Act as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide professional insight and goal planning for treatment and care.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to improve professional skills and knowledge.- Counsel and inform guardians and family members regarding speech-language, hearing, and swallowing issues.
- Compose and complete reports, lesson plans, and other program-related documents to implement, modify, and track progress of treatment / therapy programs.
- Utilize office systems and specialized communication software to create, edit, and store records, reports, and lesson plans.
- Maintain electronic augmentative communication devices and hearing aids.
