The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically skilled Field Technician (Heavy Equipment) to join our Service team in Tukwila, Washington. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As a Field Technician your key responsibilities will include :

Diagnosing, repairing, and completing routine maintenance and safety inspections on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery

Maintaining effective and consistent communication with the Service Dispatcher regarding ongoing Service jobs, and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner

Discussing Service job details with customers and communicating a clear understanding of the job scope and repair requirements

Communicating with the Parts department via phone and email to ensure required parts are ordered, and preparing required parts before visiting job sites

Maintaining proper documentation where needed, including work order forms and warranty paperwork

Reporting any safety incidents promptly and adhering to all safety policies

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies :

At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry

Relevant Trade Certification is considered a strong asset

Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset

Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience is required

Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders

Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts

Strong work ethic and a positive attitude

High school diploma

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

The base pay range for this role is : $27.38 to $44.52 per hour depending on experience.

This is an onsite role based in Tukwila, Washington .
