JOB DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Research Coordinator is a full time staff member in the Mount Sinai Respectful & Equitable Access to Comprehensive Healthcare (REACH) Program in the Division of General Internal Medicine of the Department of Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The REACH Program is a primary-care clinic for people who use drugs (PWUD) at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients in navigating the medical system and providing them with support as well as care coordination with the rest of the multidisciplinary health team.

The Clinical Research Coordinator works under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Program Manager.

This individual attends and schedules clinic visits with patients and assists the clinical providers with managing the patients and clinic sessions.

This individual is also responsible for assisting with meeting data entry and reporting requirements for grant funding agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts routine and standardized human subjects research using appropriate research or interview techniques specific to subject matter of the research project, under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator or senior clinical research staff.

Assists in the activities related to clinical research including, but not limited to : obtaining informed consent, screening participants for eligibility, registering patients with sponsoring agencies, and answering telephone calls.

Coordinates scheduling of appointments for patients with REACH Staff and clinicians

Documents and tracks patient encounters

Manages one in-person clinic session per week

Maintains source documents and subject files in accordance with Mount Sinai policies and procedures. Ensures accurate, confidential and complete compilation of data.

May assist in the preparation for regulatory agency site visits.

Performs other related duties

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred or a combination of relevant research experience and education

0-2 years of research / human subjects experience

Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred

Exceptionally organized and able to work independently

Excellent communication skills

Compassionate and personable

REQUIRED SKILLS

Microsoft Office Suite
