Shift Details : The Clinic is open from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 7am to 5 pm on Friday. Work shifts are within those time frames.

In addition to our 200+ bed hospital, the Backus Health System includes numerous off-site locations, including several health centers, Backus Home Health Care and the Backus Outpatient Care Center, also in Norwich.

Backus Health Centers are located in Montville, Ledyard, Colchester, Norwich, Waterford, Mystic and North Stonington, and additional labs for blood draws are available throughout the region.

We’re seeking a caring and dedicated Site Supervisor - Physical Therapist (PT) for our Norwich outpatient clinic who has a passion for patient centered care.

This is a great opportunity to work with a diverse population, in one of our largest offices, that offers a wonderful team atmosphere with experienced clinicians (PT / OT / SLP) and some of the best physicians, nurses and physician assistants in New England!

Being located in the same building as many of the referring providers allow for excellent interaction regarding patient care.

The caseload can consist of a wide range of orthopedic cases and specialties : neuro, vestibular, sports medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, osteoporosis, work injury rehab, pain mgmt and more!

Job Summary

Supervises the operational activities of the Outpatient Rehab Site and collaborates with Rehab Leadership on the management of patient care, day-to-day operations and department personnel.

Responsible for staff development, hiring, supervising and evaluating team members.

Utilizes operating model to assist with supply management, policies and procedures, patient scheduling, patient and staff safety, operational monitoring, regulatory compliance, employee engagement and the overall timeliness and quality of services provided to customers.

Responsible for metrics reporting and dashboards, as well as referral management.

Approximately 85% of time spent in a direct patient care capacity as Physical Therapist.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Physical Therapy; Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience required
  • Experience as clinical instructor or mentor required
  • Prior experience in a leadership role preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current State of CT Physical Therapy license required

  • Able to coordinate and manage patient care needs recognizing issues that require intervention
  • Able to communicate effectively with patient, family, and team members to reach optimum patient outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and make sound decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates competence, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patients’ needs
  • Maintains infection control policies related to patient care
