Mid-level Environmental Graphic Designer

The Opportunity

As a member of the design team at Exit Design, you would be a part of and collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary designers.

You would work closely with the team to participate in the ideation and development of both 2D & 3D design solutions, document designs for production, and assist in the oversight of the fabrication of projects.

We’re looking for someone who inspires trust and confidence in their teammates and with our clients, is detail-oriented, and is a clear communicator.

This person should have strong ideation skills, be a critical thinker, demonstrate strategic thinking, and be self-motivated.

The ideal candidate should have experience working on projects involving multiple disciplines and can take direction from multiple people and prioritize tasks.

This role is a hybrid, full-time position that requires the candidate to mostly work out of our Philadelphia office, with some travel to project sites.

What You Will Accomplish

• Collaborate on developing conceptual design ideas, detail studies, and sketches as ideas evolve.
• Develop design to coordinate with wayfinding methodology and programming.
• Iterate studies to evaluate design with the functional needs of the system.
• Deliver visualizations that effectively communicate the project concepts through hand sketching, photo rendering, 3D modeling, etc.
• Participate in and lead internal design sessions and critiques.
• Participate in and lead client reviews and work sessions and collaborate and interface with project stakeholders and partners.
• Maintain a knowledge of materials and material specifications and apply this knowledge to design concepts.
• Create and develop detail studies and technical drawings
• Demonstrate studio / team leadership.

Who Should Apply

• You have experience in graphic design, industrial design, interior design, and / or architecture.
• You are interested in working in the built environment and designing both 3D and 2D solutions.
• You are detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong conceptual thinking.
• You understand and appreciate a good design process.
• You are strong at ideating a concept and can iterate through concepts as they develop.
• You have a strong work ethic with the ability to manage the creative process.
• You thrive working on multiple projects, can take direction from multiple people, and can prioritize tasks accordingly.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You develop relationships and earn the trust of clients, partners, and colleagues.
• You have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and get excited for the opportunity to build better systems as we grow and evolve.
• You are proficient in Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup. Revit and BIM knowledge is a plus.
