Adelphi is seeking part-time Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide private nursing services in a school district in the State of Maryland.
The nurses will be needed to support students with special needs at Elementary Schools in Montgomery. Job Quick Facts :

- Bachelor’s degree / Approved certificate program Responsibilities :
- Monitor for symptoms and escort student to the health room when she is experiencing chest pain, headaches, dizziness, looks pale / blue in color, is out of breath, or squatting (lack of strength to stand).
- Call the health room and tell the nurse to expect student so that she can watch for her arrival.
- Escort student during any transitions or to the health room.
- Escort student by wheelchair to designated location (in front of building or nearest location) during a fire drill.
- Ensure that student has limited physical activity that can increase heart rate.
- Implement the emergency care plan and implement AED within 60 seconds.
- Ensure that a wheelchair is in an accessible location within close proximity of student at all times, especially during recess, , or other locations that cause exertion.
- Ensure that student has access to water and the ability to sit out when needed, especially after a procedure.
- Escort student by wheelchair in the event of a emergency evacuation.
- Carry AED and pulse oximeter with student at all times including emergency evacuation.
