The Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Panoramic Health plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports.
This role is pivotal because of the value it provides the organization, transforming raw data into meaningful insights through interactive and user-friendly dashboards.
Panoramic Health is seeking a talented Senior Business Intelligence Developer. The individual in this role must be able to accurately understand business requirements and use their extensive Tableau experience to develop and maintain dashboards that continuously improve our ability to access and leverage data for decision making.
Key Responsibilities :
- Data Analysis & Visualization :
- Design and develop advanced Tableau dashboards and reports that provide insights into business performance.
- Interpret complex data sets and transform them into visual stories that inform decision-making.
- Utilize Tableau features such as calculated fields, parameters, and LOD (Level of Detail) expressions to create dynamic and interactive dashboards.
- Data Management :
- Maintain and regularly test Tableau Cloud extract refresh scheduling.
- Optimize data extracts and ensure efficient data retrieval and performance within Tableau.
- Conduct data cleansing, blending, and aggregation to prepare datasets for visualization.
- Performance Optimization :
- Monitor and enhance the performance of Tableau dashboards and data sources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integrity, visualization accuracy, and dashboard performance.
- Quality Assurance :
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure dashboards and reports meet or exceed business requirements.
- Ensure existing and new development is aligned with defined brand and style guidelines.
- Perform regular audits and reviews of BI systems and processes.
- Documentation and Best Practices :
- Create and maintain technical documentation for dashboards, data models, and processes.
- Establish and promote best practices for Tableau development, including naming conventions, version control, and dashboard design principles.
- Strategic Planning :
- Contribute to the development of Tableau strategy and product roadmap.
- Identify opportunities for leveraging Tableau to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement :
- Stay updated with the latest Tableau features, updates, and industry trends.
- Participate in Tableau community events, forums, and user groups to grow and share knowledge and gain insights that can be shared with the broader team.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree : A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Advanced Degree (Optional) : A Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- At least 8 years of experience working as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Experience developing dashboards with user level security and maintaining secure permissions within Tableau.
- Possesses Tableau Desktop Certification.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex Tableau dashboards and reports for different business functions.
- Experience with SQL and querying relational databases.
- Expertise in optimizing Tableau dashboards for performance, including managing data extracts, optimizing queries, and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Experience leading or managing Tableau development projects, including coordinating with other developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor junior Tableau developers in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills :
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Senior Tableau Developer or Tableau Lead.
- Experience as a Tableau administrator.
- Healthcare specific experience is preferred.
