About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 3x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : 2 Years Required, Must have 1 prior travel assignment License : Valid State License Required (specific state requirements apply) Certifications : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have : - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Post cardiac surgery care (Not directly from the OR)- Assist with chest tube insertion / removal- Care of ventilated patients- Experience with pacer / temp pacer / transvenous pacer Job Description : Provide specialized nursing care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.
- Average daily census of 1-8 patients.- Participate in on-call duties : 4 shifts within a 6-week schedule.- Required to work every third weekend.
- Float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.- Complete orientation hours as specified.- Familiar with Cerner / med connect charting and Pyxis medication system.
- Facility mandates flu vaccine with no exemptions.- Ability to execute SBAR / shift note for effective communication.- Experience with lumbar drains preferred.
- Scrub color : Navy Blue.- Complete required modules pre-start and during orientation.Note : This position involves working in a high-acuity setting and requires strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
