Job Summary

We are seeking an Animal Care Technician (Rodent Facility) to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in South San Francisco, CA .

As the Animal Care Technician , you will provide the highest animal welfare standards and care, in addition to maintaining vivarium cleanliness.

Additional responsibilities include :

  • Ensure high standards of animal welfare are met.
  • Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.
  • Perform routine animal health observations.
  • Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.
  • Receive, unpack, and house animals according to SOP and Animal Receiving Form
  • Understand proper room entry order and adhere to biosafety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records organize supply areas.
  • Maintain vivarium cleanliness and waste removal in accordance with applicable SOPs.

Who are we looking for?

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Technician position.

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • BS in either animal science or life sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 0-6 months directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility required.
  • AALAS Certification at the ALAT level preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay range for this position is $22-23 USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
