As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for developing New Product Integration strategies and supporting the New Glenn rocket assembly processes.
New Glenn is a single configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads routinely to Earth orbit and beyond.
This New Product features a reusable first stage built for 25 missions; the New Glenn will build a road to space. Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible to supporting efforts in developing full baseline manufacturing plan strategies, translating engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequence and schedules.
You will create, interpret, and modify work instructions and routings to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning.
Proficient in reviewing and calculating labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency. Able to coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, must be ABET Accredited.
- 3+ years Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Process Engineering experience.
- Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing process : fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
- Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
- Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
- Define and support repair and rework activities.
- Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
- Design proper material handling and packaging to protect hardware throughout the build and test process.
- Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
- Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
- Extremely customer focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.
S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Must be physically able to :
- Support production floor activities.
- Climb stairs and work in small areas.
- Lift and carry 40 lbs.
Desired :
- Advanced degree, certification, and / or training in a directly related field.
- Aerospace / Launch vehicle experience.
- Six Sigma execution experience.
- Continuous improvement, payback analysis, business case development, and earned value project management, project management.
- Broad experience in hardware manufacturing : Electrical, assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, fabrication, machining, etc.
- General proficiency with CAD.
