Citizens is seeking an ambitious Investment Banking Analyst III to join our Financial Institutions Group (FIG) to support team’s senior professionals in industry focused client advisory as well as originating executing capital markets and M&A transactions.

As the Analyst III Corporate Finance, you will participate in significant transaction involvement, from origination through closing.
You will thrive in this role through your ability to work on multiple projects and transactions concurrently. You will play a critical role in originating opportunities and coordinating projects, and will interact directly with Managing Directors, senior management, other groups within Citizens, client management teams, private equity firms, and legal counsel.
You will be expected to work under limited supervision, supporting industry aligned client coverage efforts and working closely with senior professionals in Dept Capital Markets, Leverage Finance, Sponsor Coverage, and M&A teams to originate and successfully execute wide variety of transactions, including loan syndications, acquisition finance, high yield bonds, convertibles, and M&A.

Primary responsibilities include
- Working with senior bankers within the Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and M&A product groups, Sponsor Coverage and Corporate Banking relationship teams to pitch strategies or transaction financing scenarios to help corporate clients and financial sponsors achieve their financial and strategic objectives
- Assists in the evaluation and execution of assigned investment transactions, including M&A, securities issuance, capital restructuring, etc.
- Provides financial analysis reports for investment transactions.
- Prepares marketing documentation such as pitch materials and board and management presentations.
- Drafts memorandums and road show presentations for client companies.
Qualifications, Education, Certifications and / or Other Professional Credentials
- 2+ years of direct experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Leveraged Finance or Capital Markets.
- Proven experience in FIG is strongly preferred.
- Skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner
- Ability to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teams
- Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and company or industry analysis
- Self-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment
- High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Full command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, S&P Leveraged Commentary, Advantage Data, Bloomberg, Thomson One, Thomson Loan Pricing Connector, FactSet, etc.
