HOURS : Monday through Thursday classroom, Friday planning and professional development.

START DATE : 24 / 25 School Year

RATE OF PAY : $38,.40

REPORTS TO : Director of Early Childhood and Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS :

A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement OR A bachelors degree in early childhood education OR child development with a specialization in preschool teaching.

The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education

Experience working with Preschool Children preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Helps to plan varied activities for preschool children using the Connect4Learning (C4L) Curriculum
  • Participates in home visitation with all enrolled families twice a year
  • Participates in Parent / Teacher Conferences twice a year
  • Participates in Parent Involvement Nights twice a year
  • Follows consistent routines and limits
  • Makes all children feel comfortable, secure and loved
  • Insures health and safety of children at all times
  • Helps to provide regular feedback to parents about their children
  • Helps to maintain a portfolio on each child using the Teaching Strategies Gold
  • Assists families with resource referrals
  • Enforces the discipline policies and procedures stated in the parent handbook and staff handbook
  • Maintains classroom orderliness
  • Works with the Director of Early Childhood Programs to plan field trips and special activities
  • Attends Early Childhood Curriculum meetings
  • Helps to plan parent education / involvement activities
  • Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
  • Other duties as assigned
