We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer for our location in Marlborough, MA. This position will work with our project teams to do the structural steel engineering designs for boilers, skids, ductwork, pipe supports and foundations for our customers.
Essential Responsibilities :
Lead complex steel and equipment layouts from the proposal stage through fabrication and installation by visiting the site and working with existing drawings and laser scans to develop catered solutions.

- Provide design and analysis to ensure the structural integrity for steel and support structures within the framework of customer requirements and specifications, building codes and standards, internal requirements, and project budgets.
- Provide oversight of third-party engineering services ensuring the designs and deliverables meet the project requirements.
- Support the project installation of steel and support structures though site assessments and monitoring the work of vendors and subcontractors.
Support requests for information (RFIs) from the field and help develop creative solutions to problems in real time.
- Prepare and create 3D analysis models for new and altered designs. Work side by side with design teams and other engineers to review designs by conducting complex clash / interference checks, maintainability and constructability reviews, egress / life safety studies, etc.
- Work on projects from small to large ranging from a couple tons of steel to over 2, tons of steel.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :
- Professional Engineering license required
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable codes such as ASCE, IBC, AISC, and AWS.
- Experience with STAAD. Pro design and analysis software.
- Five to Ten years of experience with design of structural steel and concrete foundations.
- 3D Modeling / drafting tools such as Auto CAD 2D / 3D, Plant 3D, Inventor, and Navisworks experience is a plus.
