MAU is hiring a Manufacturing Molding Engineer for Robert Bosch in Charleston, SC. As a Manufacturing Molding Engineer, you will identify and lead projects to improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and utilization of manufacturing processes to meet policy deployment objectives.

This is a direct-hire opportunity.

1 billion euros in sales revenue. The Bosch plant has manufactured high-quality automotive products at the Charleston, SC facility for over 30 years.

With a history of innovation, the plant specializes in advanced products, such as antilock braking systems, gasoline fuel injectors, and diesel fuel injectors.

Our associates will run state-of-the-art automatic production equipment and technology in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience with molding processes
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements

Experience in plastic injection molding

Essential Functions

  • Lead daily management of process area using performance data to support production, meet targets, and derive measures to continuously improve process performance
  • Develop, maintain, and apply lean manufacturing principles (BPS) throughout the value stream with regards to equipment design, selection, layouts, and material flow
  • Contribute to engaged team environment and actively support and contribute to manufacturing team effort
  • Responsible for daily activities of the technical aspects of the molding processes to ensure that a controlled proves is being run and that overall safety practices are being followed
  • Develop and train team on proper start-up, shutdown, purging, and troubleshooting procedures and ensure they are being followed
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting longer term processing solutions that will reduce costs by way of improved scrap rates and increase efficiency
  • Ensure all processes are running to baseline and that any change is properly evaluated and documented with the appropriate change forms
  • Work with the Operations group to understand focus areas for processing efforts
  • Interact with the Quality group to understand the acceptable level of part quality
  • Improve the equipment and processes to meet or exceed current or future business capacity
  • Monitor and update the preventative maintenance program as required
  • Actively pursue opportunities and reduce cost and cycle times
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards (i.e., work instructions, control plans, PFMEA, etc.)
  • Plan and execute capital equipment (MAE) acquisition and installation, including initial justification, quotation, approval process, pre-acceptance, final acceptance, and launch management
  • Perform other tasks as required
