Description :
The server assistant’s (SA) first and foremost job is to exceed the service expectations of our guests. They must be outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic members of the team who are willing to help wherever needed so that the guests are given outstanding service and hospitality.
Our SAs perform a variety of duties, including bussing, prebussing, running food, and stocking service areas. The overall mission of this position is to see where help is needed and provide it for all front of house team members.
They may be asked to help bartenders with such duties as refilling ice bins, cleaning and stocking glassware, and other tasks as needed.
They may also be needed to help at the host stand.
Additionally, Server Assistants may be asked to complete essential duties throughout the restaurant to facilitate daily operations.
This can include cleaning the dining room, checking and stocking bathrooms, cleaning takeout and host stands, or working with the takeout team to ensure the HMR area is running smoothly.
Requirements :
- Must be able to walk quickly; stand for up to 3 hours continuously; lift 50 pounds; bend, twist, and move without restriction.
- Must work quickly and efficiently, making excellent use of time.
- Arrive at start of shift with a clean uniform, ready to work at scheduled time, or arrange for coverage by another employee with manager approval.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Coordinate with and assist servers to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Completely bus tables, wipe them down, clean the surrounding floor and reset within 3 minutes of prior guests leaving.
- Communicate with host team as to status of tables.
- Be able to identify all the dishes in the restaurant and garnish them correctly.
- Know table numbers and process for delivering food to guests.
- Must be able to smile and greet guests warmly with eye contact.
- Promptly inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low.
- Remove trash and clean dining floor garbage containers.
- Wash hands regularly and keep work areas clean and sanitized.
- Detail orientated, able to identify priorities on a busy restaurant floor.
