Description
Center for Weight Management and Wellness (CWMW) is a comprehensive weight management program consisting of three types of treatments to help patients with their weight loss goals.
These treatments include medical weight management, bariatric endoscopy, and bariatric surgery.The entire team of doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, and dietitians work closely with patients to develop personalized plans that support their long-term health and weight goals.
Administrative :
ØHigh volume communication with patients, coordinators, providers, practices, and divisions within BWH and outside of BWH.
ØExtensive daily communication and contact with many Clinical and Administrative Departments of BWH,. This requires routing factual and confidential information and a detailed knowledge of policies and procedures at this institution as the others.
Ensures triaging patient messages as needed to other CWMW team members including patient navigator(s) or clinical personnel.
ØSchedules all patient appointments for all the Center for Weight Management and Wellness (CWMW) from the eReferral system within BWH.
This includes scheduling appointments for the medical weight management, bariatric endoscopy, and bariatric surgery teams.
In addition, this individual may cover incoming calls from the CWMW access center when staff coverage is needed.Awareness and understanding of the treatment for patients with obesity is important in this role.
ØEnsuring that patient concerns are addressed and followed up within CWMW. Ensure that most recent insurance and referrals are available.
Verify active and contracted insurance status.
ØComposing routine correspondence to patients and physicians; extracting basic information from patient records. Complete intake on patient medical history and location of records to pass on to administrative staff.
ØWorks as a team member with all staff within CWMW to ensure a smooth patient experience.Participation in operation meetings may be necessary at times.
ØProvides patients with supporting information related to upcoming appointment through the electronic patient portal or through the mail system and while maintaining HIPPA compliance.
ØEnsuring that patient concerns are addressed and followed up by the appropriate personnel within the division. Ensure that most recent data is available and has been examined by physician(s).
ØWork day may require flexibility to accommodate patient scheduling needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred.
- Bilingual a PLUS!
- 3-5 years in a health care setting required.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology is preferred.
- Computer knowledge required : Windows, MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Ability to use discretion in confidential matters.
- Ability to read, write and articulate in English is required.
