Certification Details
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required for specific positions
- Possible need for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure (NRP), Chemotherapy (CHEMO), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certifications based on specialty
- Required State License verification
- Medication Test / Pharmacology Competency Exam within 1 year of start
- Dysrhythmia / EKG Competency Exam as per unit requirement
Job Details
- Registered Nurse Acute care interventional telemetry medical surgical unit
- Night Shift, 3x12's per week, Every other weekend, Every other holiday
- 32 private beds, acuity ranges from moderate to high (frequent neuro checks), 1 : 5-6 nurse patient ratio, navy blue scrubs
- Patient population includes epilepsy, myasthenia gravis, stroke, multiple sclerosis, NPH, migraine, encephalopathy, brain mass, hemicraniectomy, other neurological / neurosurgical diagnoses
- LPN blended model, must assist LPNs with assessments and medication administration
- No ventilated patients
- Heparin, argatroban, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, ketamine drips
- Must complete bedside report at start of shift
- First to float, every other weekend Friday / Saturday night requirement, every other holiday requirement
- May be required to assume role of Charge RN
- EPIC EMR
Job Requirements
- Must be able to read & interpret Telemetry independently
- Neuro assessment experience preferred
- 1 year of experience will be considered
- Will consider up to two weeks of RTO (Requested Time Off)
Schedule Information

- Neuro checks frequent on the unit due to patient acuity
