Job Summary :
This will be a full-time, direct placement position. Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs) are compassionate caregivers who provide essential support to individuals in their homes.
These professionals are instrumental in helping elderly individuals, those with disabilities, and those with chronic conditions maintain their independence and receive personalized care in the comfort of their own homes.
As an HHA or PCA, you will assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, while offering companionship and emotional support.
Your role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, reducing the need for institutional care, and allowing them to live with dignity and independence.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) : Provide personal care assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living to ensure clients’ comfort and well-being.
Meal Preparation and Feeding : Prepare nutritious meals according to the client’s dietary needs and preferences, assist with feeding if necessary, and ensure proper hydration and nutrition.
Companionship and Emotional Support : Offer companionship, engage clients in meaningful activities, and provide emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Light Housekeeping and Errands : Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing, as well as running errands, including grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions.
Health Monitoring and Reporting : Observe clients for any changes in physical or emotional health, and promptly report any concerns to the Home Care Coordinator or supervising nurse.
Assist with medication reminders and basic health monitoring, such as checking vital signs if trained.
Mobility Assistance : Help clients with mobility, including transfers from bed to chair, walking, and using mobility aids to ensure safety and prevent falls.
Personal Care Planning : Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet the specific needs and goals of each client.
Infection Control and Safety : Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines to protect clients and yourself, especially in the context of a home care environment.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of care provided, including activities, meals, and any changes in the client’s condition, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Requirements :
Certification : Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) is preferred but may vary depending on state requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification is also preferred.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a state-approved training program is preferred.
Experience : Previous experience in home care, hospice, or a similar setting is preferred but not required. New graduates and those with a passion for caregiving are encouraged to apply.

Ability to drive or use public transportation to travel to client homes if required.

Requirements
Licensure : Must hold an active and unencumbered LPN license in the state of Indiana.
Education : Completion of an accredited LPN program.
Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Experience : Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly in long-term care or outpatient facilities, is preferred but not required.
