Assistant Director of Marketing

The Assistant Director of Marketing (ADM) is part of a shared services team, that provides expertise to the units that comprise the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support.
The ADM plans, coordinates, and executes marketing plans and initiatives that support the division’s strategic needs and appeal to audiences while ensuring quality, consistency, and excellence within the university brand platform.
With a focus on promoting resources, services, and products to a wide range of audiences, the ADM plans and implements marketing activities to build awareness of and drive engagement with the division’s offerings.
They demonstrate proficiency in marketing, communications, and project management and serve as assistant project manager to the marketing ticketing system.
Day to Day Responsibilities :
- Assist with the planning and implementation of a comprehensive marketing program that supports Student Affairs and Academic Support strategic priorities and addresses audience needs.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and collaborate with communications and marketing team members to ensure work aligns with broader division goals.
- Plan and execute high-quality work through a variety of activities, including advertising, digital marketing, and marketing communications.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing staff members and stakeholders to identify key messages and to ensure consistency, coordination, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Ensure quality and consistency of design aesthetics and determine project needs and priorities as they relate to creative briefs, strategic communications plans, and other relevant planning documents.
- Keep team members and clients informed of all project statuses in real time via production management software, verbal communication, and other reports.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the marketing student ambassador team who will engage the student body through special events, activities, and programming at the division level.

Minimum Required Education and Experience :
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and / or experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, journalism or a related field and two years of related experience.
Proven experience in marketing, public relations, communications or related roles.

- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
