Description
Nurse Extern II will deliver patient care under the continuous, direct supervision of the preceptor per KBN AOS 15. The nurse extern may perform nursing tasks as delegated under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with this section.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administration of medication (under direct supervision of preceptor)
- Assessments of patient (under direct supervision of preceptor)
- Organize, plan and deliver patient care (under direct supervision of preceptor)
- Documentation of care performed (under direct supervision of preceptor)
- Evaluate outcomes of care (under direct supervision of preceptor)
- Participate in shift report to and from nurse (under direct supervision of preceptor).
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required :
- Education : High School Diploma or equivalent. The Nurse Extern II must be actively enrolled in a board approved pre-licensure program of nursing and must provide documented proof of active enrollment.
- Experience : Successful completion of clinical coursework to reach senior level standing as determined by an accredited school of nursing.
Provide documentation of skills performance evaluation or an official letter from the Nursing Program documenting the specific skills that the student has successfully completed to verify the student is individually educational prepared and has demonstrated clinical competence to perform delegated task / acts.
