Firm Overview :
Small and friendly plaintiff law firm is seeking an associate with at least 1 year of experience practicing in the areas of education law, employment law, disability rights, civil rights, and / or civil litigation.
Firm appears regularly before administrative tribunals as well as before state and federal courts.
The firm is comprised of highly motivated team players who ultimately appreciate good work ethic, strong independent critical thinking skills and low drama.
They also appreciate a good work-life balance. The attorneys take their roles seriously but tend to laugh a lot about all things law (and other things they don't teach you in law school).
The firm is tech savvy and also provides itself on supporting its associates with lots of training.
In addition to their extensive litigation and employment practice, the firm is looking to groom associates in education law since the associates are experts in special education law and all aspects of education law.
The work is rewarding, fulfilling and constantly provides opportunities to really help people in need.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in both state and federal court on issues that impact individuals in need. For consideration, all candidates must submit (1) cover letter,(2) resume and (3)writing sample.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience within education, employment, disability rights, civil rights litigation, labor law litigation and / or general civil litigation
- Active CA Bar License in good standing
- Knowledge within Adobe, Lexi, Outlook and law firm billing systems
- Team Player with a positive, friendly disposition, whom can multi-task
- Tech Savvy - Adobe, Outlook & LMS (ie- Clio, etc) and billing software
- Strong Legal Writing Skills
- Clerkship experience within civil rights is a plus
