Senior / Principal Translational Scientist
This role is a multifunctional, in-lab, hands-on position which requires a background in nanoparticle therapeutic research or delivery.
This position requires a highly organized and motivated person to lead a small team of scientists in a rapidly growing, early-stage biotechnology company.
The selected candidate will take a lead role in the selection, prioritization and execution of analytical and in vivo programs.
He / she will design and develop studies to advance and progress the expertise and capabilities in the nanoparticle innovation space.
Results of research will be aligned with pre-clinical planning and communicated regularly to executive leadership.
Must be able to execute in a fast-paced environment; and be highly collaborative, organized, self-motivated and flexible.
Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Core Responsibilities :
- Lead and conduct research projects focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of nanoparticles.
- Plan, execute, and manage research projects, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are completed on time. Driving team towards timely completion.
- Demonstrated experience with the synthesis, characterization, and / or application of nanoparticles.
- Provide strategic, scientific and technical support for key stakeholders within the company.
- Oversee and recommend outsourcing solutions to accelerate nanoparticle development / manufacturing / synthesis.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of research activities, including data analysis and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers, providing guidance throughout their work, collaborating closely with both internal and external partners.
- Responsible for aiding in creation of protocols, SOPs, lab manual, and interfacing with CRO for execution of services
- Designing and performing immunization / infection / tumor experiments in mice
- Performing and overseeing tissue staining and microscopy
- Assessing the effects of various therapeutic nanoparticle formulations on tumor progression
- Remain current with the latest scientific advancements and technologies in nanoparticle research to inform innovative strategies and research approaches.
- Has a track record of delivering results, driving continuous improvements, and building effective cross-functional networks.

- Experience and understanding of oncology / I-O area
- Experience presenting data to a diverse cross-functional audience
- People management skills
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have at least a PhD with 1-5+ years experience or an MS with 10+ years of industry research / lab experience in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related major.
Must have in vivo experience including mouse handling and blood sampling. Proficiency with serological assays, flow cytometry and tissue imaging / collection is required.

90%) is spent in typical laboratory areas, positioned at a computer workstation or walking / standing in a lab
