Overview

The salary range for this position is $80,232.00 - $100,000 per year depending upon qualifications and is non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will be actively involved in the evaluation, review, and management of database resources and services across the organization in order to ensure a high level of database integrity is reached and maintained.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of forming an excellent database infrastructure in close collaboration with Global Campus colleagues and vendors.

While providing the database expertise needed for the team’s success, this individual will be required to help provide guidance for a team to develop, implement, and enforce high-quality database standards.

This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Information Technology.

Responsibilities (95%)

  • Design, create, maintain, and manage Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), data lakes, data marts, data mining, Operational Data Stores (ODS), Extract Transform Load (ETL) functions and solutions, XML, indexes, T-SQL and data manipulation scripts, stored procedures, views, functions, and forms.
  • Create clear and relevant data dictionaries for all database efforts that include the following information for each functional data element : the logical data element name, its definition that describes the meaning and the context of the data element in the system, the domain of the data element (the allowable values), the data type, length, and unit of measure.
  • Provide consulting services and technical support for database creation, modification, testing, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery;

provides and clearly communicates about detailed project documentation.

  • Ensure maximum use of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server reporting Services (SSRS) for the integration and delivery of information.
  • Support of technical issues and solutions.
  • Lead and support a team of system administrators.
  • Develop solutions to technical specifications and business requirements.
  • Contribute to business process and workflow mapping.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings to include preserving meeting records.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.
  • 4 years experience in a relational database environment providing support and management of Cloud-based databases.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Skills

  • Familiar with data cleansing; Programming in XML, T-SQL, JAVA, C, C++, Python and Perl development languages.
  • 3+ years of experience leading an IT team.
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery in relational database environments.Experience collaborating with teams across an organization.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment across multiple projects and issues with various timelines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with Cloud implementation.
  • Experience working in higher education environments.
