The Lenox Hotel is looking for a passionate Executive Chef to oversee the culinary department which is comprised of three unique outlets, event and banquet space.

Our three outlets include : City Table, serving American and international-inspired dishes sourcing local New England ingredients.

City Bar, Back Bay’s chic cocktail lounge serving small bites. And Solas, our modern-Irish pub and a neighborhood favorite.

Our 5000 sq. ft. banquet facilities host corporate and social events including weddings.

Our Executive Chef will be able to explore their creativity and passion for local foods by authoring a menu that delivers an experience, not just a plate of food.

As the Executive Chef, you will have the ability to follow through on your creations from conception to execution. Our philosophy is that our guests’ experience will never exceed the experience of our employees, and therefore we are looking for a chef who can inspire and lead the team.

The Executive Chef will be able to function in a high energy, fast paced environment as part of a team. Overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu creation, kitchen management, and staff supervision.

With an ever-changing menu of fresh, seasonal ingredients, it is important to be creative and willing to experiment. Qualifications

  • At least five years of restaurant / kitchen management experience
  • A degree of certification from a culinary school is preferred
  • Proficiency in a wide range of cooking techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must have open availability (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
  • multi-lingual a plus

Responsibilities :

  • Menu Development : Create and update menus that align with our restaurant’s concept, target audience, and culinary standards.
  • Food Preparation : Ensure the highest quality of food by overseeing all aspects of food preparation, including cooking techniques, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management : Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and sanitation procedures to meet health and safety standards.
  • Staff Supervision : Hire, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Cost Control : Monitor food costs, labor costs, and other expenses to maintain profitability while delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Quality Assurance : Maintain consistency in food quality and presentation through regular inspections and tastings.
  • Creative Innovation : Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate new techniques, ingredients, and flavors into the menu offerings.
  • Customer Satisfaction : Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to feedback, addressing complaints, and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with restaurant management, front-of-house staff, and vendors to coordinate operations and achieve business goals.
  • Compliance : Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and labor laws.
