The Quantitative Analyst is responsible for key inputs to support financial analytics and decision making. This individual is responsible for the development and maintenance of quantitative models and processes used to support Suncoast Credit Union’s consumer and commercial business lines.
The focus of the Quantitative Analyst position is to harness the power of the institution's data to support financial forecasting, financial platforms and inform business strategies.
The Quantitative Analyst role drives forward quantitative and financial analysis to support the organization’s business line (non-regulatory) financial reporting and analytic initiatives.
The incumbent will be a part of an advanced analytical team to build on the existing data structures to deliver financial and business insights through data mining, modeling, financial analysis and statistical analysis.
This position will leverage quantitative methods to solve business and financial objectives.
Responsibilities :
Provide expertise and guidance in the overall financial forecasting process, including financial modeling
Provide data-supported financial insights to identify and address business issues and opportunities
Design and deliver the implementation of scalable, data-driven solutions
Lead initiatives to analyze complex business initiatives using data from internal and external sources
Provide strategic financial analysis services to business partners by delivering analysis and insights to leaders to drive increased performance
Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with internal teams to identify improvement opportunities
Support the development and management of financial and credit models
Analyze, interpret and communicate results and analysis to senior management
Ensure accuracy and consistency of data inputs and reporting processes
Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union.
Completes annual BSA / AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA / AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, finance, mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related field
Graduate degree preferred
Two or more years of Finance and Data Analytics experience, with a thorough understanding of financial and analytical methods
Two or more years of experience in quantitative financial modeling, including direct experience with advanced level of programming skills in Python, R, or other objected oriented languages
Strong data analysis and data mining skills with experience analyzing large amounts of information
Ability to balance large-scale projects while managing regular operational requests
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized.
Able to analyze and resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems and situations. Strong knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. Strong knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators.
Able to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures.
