Team Introduction

We're the TikTok Monetization Products data science team, who enables and champions data driven decision making. To maximize user value, advertiser value, creator value, and platform value with data, we partner closely with cross-functional teams to work on the following main pillars : Core Ads & Brand Innovation, Ecosystem, Ads Interfaces, Measurement & Vertical Solutions, Business Integrity, SMB Growth, PSO Analytics, and TTP Analytics & Ops.

In addition, we co-build Experimentation with the China Monetization DS team.

Internship Overview

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2024. Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths.

A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.

This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May / June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below :

• May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024
• May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024
• June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Online Assessment

Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment in HackerRank.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our ads products.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
• Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions.
• Build / maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our products.
• Mine massive amounts of data and extract useful product insights.
• Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support product launches.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree in statistics or a related technical discipline.
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
• Experience doing quantitative analysis.
• Fluency in SQL or other programming languages. Some development experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.).
• Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Hive / Hadoop) a plus.
• Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
• The ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner.
• Basic understanding of statistical analysis.

Job Information

Compensation Description (hourly)

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $45- $45. We cover 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire.

Medical coverage only, no dental or vision coverage.

Our time off and leave plans are : Paid holidays and paid sick leave. The sick leave entitlement is based on the time you join.

We also provide mental and emotional health benefits through our Employee Assistance Program and provide reimbursements for your mobile phone expense.
