CURRENT OPENINGS :

• 1st or 2nd Shift Openings (10 AM - 10 PM)
• Schedule may vary determined by the store's needs
• Part-Time (16-29 hours / week) or ACA Full-Time (30-39 hours / week)

LOCATION : South Bend and Mishawaka, IN and surrounding cities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties may vary depending on the site you are working.

This opening is for a local grocery store chain in South Bend and Mishawaka and Niles. Some responsibilities may include :

• Customer Service - provide the highest level of customer service when interacting with employees, visitors, and co-workers.
• Physical Deterrence - Maintain a visual presence in and around the grocery store and act as a deterrence to theft and other criminal activity.
• Patrolling - Walk the interior and exterior of the various grocery stores, keeping an eye out for security, theft, safety, and maintenance issues.

SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will look like :

• Reliability - Report for your shift on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform.
• Friendly Personality Being able to balance our expectations of outstanding customer service while maintaining client policies and enforcing rules.
• Following Company and Client Policies - Be able to read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined and ensure all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
• Use of De-escalation Techniques - Being able to defuse situations through verbal judo and other communication tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
• Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Must be willing to become CPR / 1st Aide / AED Certified
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
• Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
• No other major violations in the last 3 years.
• Physical Requirements :
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

• Background Check & Online On-Boarding Activities
• In-Office Orientation
• Basic Officer Training - Video and Hands-on training regarding skills and techniques important for all Security Officers.
• Meet with our HR Team - Complete your onboarding process, in-house drug testing, issuing of uniforms, and photo ID badge, meet with your Operations Manager.
• On the Job Training (OJT) - Depending on the site location, you will complete anywhere from 2-40+ hours of On-The-Job training, learning the client-specific policies and procedures of the location you are assigned to.
