Location : Brenham, Texas, United States

Available Shifts : 12 HR Nights

Shift Per Week : 3

Scheduled Hours : 36

Shift Start Time : 07 : 00 PM

Shift End Time : 07 : 00 AM

Minimum Rate Per Hour : $32

Maximum Rate Per Hour : $53

Job Summary :

The RN Supervisor Labor Delivery is responsible for supervising nursing and unit-based personnel to ensure a safe, caring environment for patients, families, and staff.

This role fosters professional nursing practice, shared decision-making, and inter-professional teamwork, leading to positive patient and staff outcomes.

The Supervisor oversees daily operations, productivity, and assists the Nursing Manager in planning, implementing, evaluating, and monitoring policies, procedures, budgets, and resource allocation.

This role also involves quality / performance improvement initiatives, educational programs, and shared governance councils.

Nursing care is provided as needed.

Essential Functions of the Role :

Clinical Judgment : Foster a healthy work environment that supports evidence-based practice and research. Coordinate patient care in collaboration with the inter-professional team.

Supervise personnel to provide safe, cost-effective care based on individual patient needs. Provide nursing care as needed.

Clinical Inquiry : Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Facilitate practice changes through quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Identify and conduct clinical research.

Caring Practices : Create and sustain a compassionate, supportive environment for patients, families, and staff. Coordinate patient care conferences and inter-professional rounds for patient / family needs, discharge planning, and best caring practices.

Response to Diversity : Address issues arising from individual differences. Teach and provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care.

Resolve conflicts affecting performance and the work environment.

Advocacy and Moral Agency : Advocate on behalf of nursing staff, representing patient and staff concerns. Foster an ethical practice environment.

Promote healthcare at local, state, and national levels.

Facilitation of Learning : Monitor learning needs of staff and patients / families. Implement educational activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

Foster an environment supportive of professional and personal growth. Facilitate clinical and leadership expertise development through role modeling, teaching, and mentoring.

Collaboration : Mentor professional leadership and accountability within the inter-professional healthcare team. Collaborate with medical, allied health, and administrative staff to ensure safe, quality care.

Participate in departmental and organizational programs to achieve desired outcomes.

Systems Thinking : Respond to and provide follow-up on issues affecting patient population and staff. Allocate resources and coordinate services to optimize patient care.

Assist in human resource management, including hiring, coaching, and termination. Assist in budget development and monitoring.

Professionalism : Improve nursing practice and the work environment through shared governance and decision-making processes.

Commit to lifelong learning and professional development. Contribute to the professional growth of peers and colleagues.

Key Success Factors :

Knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.

Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing nursing care.

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Ability to provide age-specific, patient-centered care with respect for diversity.

Ability to make operational decisions and manage resources effectively.

General computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.

Qualifications :

Education : Associate's Degree in Nursing

Experience : 2 Years of Experience

Certification / License : Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
