Amazon Advertising is looking for a curious and resourceful business intelligence leader to join the Support Products & Services team.

We ensure that advertisers using self-service advertising applications can find answers or solutions through our robust Help products, our LLM-driven chatbot, or through our WW network of contact centers.

The BI leader will build critical backend datasets and related business reporting to measure opportunities and performance for all aspects of our support offerings.

With their team, they will also use ML analysis to inform in-application Help targeting strategy.

Key job responsibilities :

  • Hire and manage a team of analysts, BIEs, and a data engineer to deliver projects while also assisting with their learning goals and career growth.
  • Design, write, and drive detailed specifications for development and maintenance of robust reporting and other analytical systems.
  • Drive development of quantitative models necessary for evaluation and implementation of metrics.
  • Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
  • Define and manage the request intake process for the team and prioritize different tasks in partnership with all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with partner product and engineering teams to deliver an integrated roadmap.
  • Building OP forecasts by working closely with senior leadership and Finance.
  • Work with teams from across Amazon to improve data quality within their respective products and platforms.
  • Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation and publication to ensure confidence in the systems we build.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis : data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Champion adoption of self-service analytical tools and reporting environments.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience.
  • 5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experience.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with ETL.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical / machine learning software.
  • 4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience.
  • 10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL / ELT and reporting / analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experience.

A day in the life :

A typical day will include one-on-one meetings with your directs, consultations with business leaders on defining and building KPIs, managing communication and expectations with dozens of stakeholders, collaborating with Data Science on interesting new topics, and more.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,100 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,100 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
