POSITION SUMMARY :

Twenty-four hour accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within assigned department. Prepares requests for the fiscal year's budget and is accountable for achieving the departments' budgetary goals.

Interacts closely with other facility staff and department heads to ensure safe, quality patient care is provided in accordance with corporate, facility and unit standards.

Participates on committees and task forces as assigned. Formulates reviews and assists in the revision of policies and procedures.

Interacts, coordinates and reviews activities and actions of affiliating schools and volunteers as appropriate.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES :

Your role is to be an effective leader by coaching and developing your staff, collaborating, building teams, solving problems, taking initiative, analyzing, planning, managing change, accepting responsibility, setting and reviewing objectives, exercising control, making decisions, motivating others, supporting employee initiative, and building trust and commitment.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses / certifications, education and job knowledge / experience) :

  • Current Florida RN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification (if required)
  • Advanced knowledge / experience in Bariatric care
  • Advanced knowledge / experience in Orthopedic care
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in acute care facility
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language
  • Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills
