We are currently seeking experienced occupational therapists to join our growing Home Health Agency in Clayton, AL!

About the role :

As an occupational therapist (OT) in our organization, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients to improve their daily life activities, such as dressing, toileting, bathing, cooking, and recreational activities.

This will involve a variety of exercises including stretching, strengthening, and flexibility training. Your focus will be on restoring range of joint motion, muscle strength, and providing fine motor training.

Responsibilities :

Conduct evaluations and provide supervision
Assist individuals in developing fine motor skills for grasping and releasing things, as well as improving handwriting skills
Address hand-eye coordination to enhance play skills, such as hitting a target, batting a ball, or copying from a blackboard
Aid individuals with developmental delays in performing daily tasks more independently, such as toileting, bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth, and feeding themselves
Work with individuals who have sensory and attention issues to improve focus and social skills
Assist individuals with behavioral disorders in learning anger-management techniques, using positive methods to deal with anger, such as writing about feelings or engaging in physical activities
Evaluate a patient’s need for specialized equipment, including wheelchairs, splints, bathing equipment, dressing devices, or communication aids

Qualifications :

Must have a graduate degree, either a master’s degree or a clinical doctorate in occupational therapy
Excellent organizational skills to ensure efficient patient care
High adaptability and openness to change in a dynamic healthcare environment
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with other healthcare professionals
Good documentation and writing skills for accurate record-keeping
Great personalities and people skills to build rapport with patients
