About The Position
Job Title : MLT Tech - General Lab - Evenings Job Specialty : Laboratory Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Evening (2 : 30pm - 11 : 00pm, Mon-Fri with rotating weekends) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience preferred License : Med Lab Technician Certifications : Med Lab Technician (AAB), Med Lab Technician (AMT), or Med Lab Technician (ASCP) Must-Have : - Acceptable accuracy in patient testing and quality assurance - Critical thinking and the ability to analyze, interpret, and report lab data - Knowledge of laboratory regulatory compliance and safety standards Job Description : - Maintain acceptable accuracy in patient, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing.
- Ensure correct patient or specimen identification and meet standards for error rates in testing or reporting results. - Consistently document the investigation and correct interpretation of quality assurance failures or trends.
- Earn acceptable scores in proficiency testing and personnel competency testing. - Maintain laboratory instrumentation for testing.
- Use clinical and theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret, and report lab data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Recognize the relationship between lab data and clinical findings or expectations. - Initiate investigation of problems and work to resolve them.
- Practice information monitoring, investigation, resolution, and hand-offs to team members according to department procedures and chain of command.
- Comply with procedures for tracking laboratory test status and documentation in the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Adhere to standards of behavior and take personal responsibility for corrective action on constructive criticism. - Meet deadlines for turnaround times required by the department and practice cost-efficient work processes.
- Stay current on personal training, education, and practice of policies and procedures. - Demonstrate adequate knowledge of laboratory regulatory compliance and participate in meetings, committees, and project teams.
- Complete educational requirements on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. - Perform other duties as assigned.
