Our client, a leading International Utilities firm is looking to hire a Paralegal on a contract basis. This role is 2 days a week onsite in Paramus, NJ.
Provide highly skilled paralegal support to :
The client's Legal Department by performing a wide variety of paralegal duties including review and preparation of legal documents, and acting as a liaison with various internal and external stakeholders,
The client's attorneys, paralegals, and finance staff to ensure the billing process is performed in a timely and accurate manner
The client's Legal Department with general administrative tasks.
Roles and responsibilities
Provide expertise and support related to Municipal Water and Business Development legal teams, including, reviewing and analyzing Requests for Proposals and preparing related legal documentation.
Monitor, coordinate, and prepare legal documents and correspondence relating to the renewal of existing contracts.
Provide expertise, support, and assistance to the Municipal Water Attorneys, Business Development Attorneys, and outside counsel by performing legal research, analyzing and investigating facts, and drafting correspondence to assist in determining the Company's rights and responsibilities.
Monitor and manage the execution of contracts and agreements in compliance with internal processes and controls.
Support the Legal Operations team with the billing process, ensuring it is performed in a timely and accurate manner.
Inquire, and research all issues to ensure open balances are resolved.
Communicate with outside legal firms for all billing inquiries.
Assist with preparing monthly accruals accurately.
Ensure that rate sheets are approved timely in the billing system.
Support Data Privacy Counsel with managing data protection agreement compliance.
Perform other tasks as directed by the Senior Director of Legal Operations.
Assist with scheduling of meetings for members of the client's Legal Department.
Process all other invoices by the legal team and payment requests in our systems.
Perform administrative work for the client's Legal Department, including but not limited to paper and electronic records management.
