Window and door installers have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include :
- Installing new doors or windows in existing homes
- Bending aluminum for custom fit trim
- Measuring and cutting materials to size, using a saw or other cutting tools
- Installing door jambs and frames and sealing seams with caulking or putty
- Installing door knobs, locksets, deadbolts, and hinges
- Installing storm doors, screens, and other exterior doors
- Installing window casings, sills, and stops in wall openings
- Reviewing blueprints and permits to determine construction requirements and compliance with building codes
- Installing new doors or windows in existing structures
- Installing new door hardware such as door knobs, door levers, deadbolts, and hinges
- Installing windows in new construction projects such as homes and offices
