Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in Chicago, Illinois for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
This is a full-time contract position in a supportive and dynamic school district. Renewal opportunities may be available based on performance.
Qualifications :
- Must meet all local and state regulatory requirements for Special Education Teachers in Illinois.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification.
- Proven experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
Typical Job Duties :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify general education curriculum to meet the individual needs of students.
- Utilize various teaching methods and instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Assess students' skills and learning requirements.
- Monitor and document student progress and provide regular reports to parents and administrators.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth and development.
